While sales is more of an art then a science there are certainly some skills which can be developed to make you a better sales person.  The definition of a better sales person is someone who closes a larger percentage of their sales leads.  If you can close 75% of your leads you may only need 10 leads a month.  If you can only close 25% of your leads then you need 30 leads per month.

Many people associate sales with being pushy or imposing on the customer.  While this is certainly one technique it does not have to be the only technique and you can develop a style which you enjoy.  Sales is about relationship and being yourself so people trust you and want to buy.  We all build relationships and so working on relationship building is working on sales skills.  Do not be fooled however, it does take focus and effort to become better at sales.
